Tarot cards are an oracle with a traceable history to the twelfth century . They were used by Egyptian priests and priestesses to enlighten and provide wisdom. The Egyptians believed that the subconscious was the seat of all that is ever to be and that the secrets of our individual souls were located there. They thought the subconscious was located in the solar plexus area and believed that the heart was in the center of the chest and feelings were located there. They knew that every part of the body was somehow connected to the heart and so the Tarot was thought to work by establishing a pathway from the subconscious through the heart to the hands. As the Tarot cards were shuffled the messages from the subconscious were passed through the querant’s hands to the cards. From there the interpreter would divine what the cards were saying. The knowledge possessed by the priests was a closely guarded secret known only to the initiated, and thus people with this gift were held in almost sacred esteem.
My goal as a reader and as an author is to change the face of the Tarot, bringing it back to what it once was. I do not believe that just anyone can read the cards. There seems to be a certain type of person who is selected to share this knowledge. However, I do believe that anyone can glean understanding about themselves and their life’s journey by studying the Tarot and using it as a meditative tool. I feel that Rebirth Of The Oracle not only brings Tarot forward into the modern world, but that it also contains meanings for the cards that are pure and simple enough for everyone to understand and derive some benefit. I hope that my life will mark some small contribution to a path to wisdom and enlightenment. I am always willing to answer any questions about the cards and to teach anything I know so that the legacy of the Tarot will be renewed and preserved. |
