Justine Alessi has
been a Tarot Master and a private practitioner for 14 years. A former
librarian, she became interested in the Tarot when a young man dropped a deck of
Tarot Cards on her desk and announced, “You can do these.” Justine says that
when she opened them and looked at them, the cards felt very familiar. She found
herself mentally transported to a place that
she now has become very comfortable with.
In 2003 she completed the manuscript for
Rebirth Of the Oracle: The Tarot for The Modern World with her friend and
writing partner
Betsy McMillan. The book gives updated meanings for the Tarot as
applicable to the 21st century including everything from internet romance to
identity theft. It also concentrates heavily on the court cards as
significations in Tarot and reading them will be a tool for self discovery. It
will be released in 2005 by Ozark Mountain Publishers and will be available
world wide.
Her goal is to change the face of the Tarot, bringing it back to the beautiful
and comforting oracle that it is and removing the carnival and charlatan stigma
that has become attached to it. She says, “The Tarot is a tool for enlightenment
and will tell you how the path you are on will affect the outcome of your life.
If you do not like what your future holds, the Tarot will also give you
alternate paths to encourage you in the direction you would like to go.”
